Privacy Policy
About this policy
Deaf Indigenous Community Consultancy is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, store and use personal information.
What information we collect
When you contact us through our website forms, we collect:
- Your name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Your message or enquiry
- Your preference for how we contact you
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry
- Provide the services you request
- Improve our website and services
- Contact you about your engagement
Where we store your data
Your information is stored securely on servers in Australia (DigitalOcean Sydney region). We do not share your information with third parties without your consent, except where required by law.
AI helpers on this website
The question box on our Library and Book pages is an AI helper. To answer, your question is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes it outside Australia. We do not store your question. We keep only the time and a scrambled code made from your internet address, so we can limit how many questions are asked, and we delete those after two days. Please don't include personal, health or legal details in a question.
We also use an AI assistant to help manage enquiries and bookings. When it reads or summarises an enquiry for us, the enquiry is processed by the same AI provider.
Data retention
We retain your contact information and enquiry details for as long as needed to respond to your request, and in accordance with our business and legal obligations.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information (subject to legal requirements)
To exercise these rights, please use the contact form on our website to request privacy access or correction.
Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, please use our contact form to reach us. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) on 1300 363 992.
